Requirements to apply for aid of up to -€600 for the purchase of electric bicycles in Madrid
The Community of Madrid is one of the autonomous communities that does have a specific budget for this type of vehicle. It is necessary that the person applying for the aid be of legal age and resident in municipalities of the Community of Madrid.
You can only apply for one type of aid per person. In addition to this, it is necessary to meet the following requirements:
- Be up to date with your tax obligations with the State Administration and Social Security and have no debts in the executive period with the Community of Madrid.
- Not having obtained any other aid granted by Administrations or public or private, national, European Union or international organizations for the same purpose.

If you are self-employed/SME
Self-employed professionals and micro-enterprises (with less than 10 employees and a turnover of less than 2 million euros), may request up to 5 grants for the purchase of bicycles, mopeds or electric motorcycles throughout the entire period, as long as they comply with the following requirements :
- Be registered in the economic activities tax in the territory of the Community of Madrid.
- Be up to date with your tax obligations with the State Administration.
- Not have debts towards Social Security.
- Neither have debts with respect to the Community of Madrid.
- Not having obtained any other aid granted by Administrations or public or private, national, European Union or international organizations for the same purpose.
- In the case of SMEs, the total de minimis aid received by the beneficiary may not exceed 200,000 euros in a period of three fiscal years.
How to process the help of the Community of Madrid to buy bicycles and electric scooters
The help for electric scooters and bicycles is processed electronically. The application period is open until December 31, 2023. It must be taken into account that, as with the requirements, the documentation to be provided also differs. In the case of companies, it is necessary to authorize the Madrid's community to validate the information.
Processing the aid is really simple, it is only necessary to go to the electronic headquarters and provide the following documentation:
- Copy of the complete invoice. The invoice must state the date of purchase, the brand, the model and the serial or chassis number of the vehicle purchased, as well as the price with the amount of VAT broken down.
- In the event that the applicant is a small or medium-sized company (SME), a responsible declaration of all the aid received in the two previous fiscal years and in the current year.
- Copy of the complete invoice. The invoice must state the date of purchase, the brand, the model and the serial or chassis number of the vehicle purchased. Also the price with the amount of VAT broken down.
- Copy of the Circulation Permit of the purchased vehicle or the provisional Circulation Permit issued by the General Directorate of Traffic. (Only for vehicles that have to be registered).
- Copy of the Technical Sheet of the purchased vehicle (on both sides).
- Copy of the complete invoice. The invoice must state the date of purchase, the brand, the model and the serial or chassis number of the vehicle purchased, as well as the price with the amount of VAT broken down.
- In the event that the applicant is a small or medium-sized company (SME), a responsible declaration of all the aid received in the two previous fiscal years and in the current year.
Limitations of electric bike assist
These aids cover up to 50% of the price of the vehicle, however, up to a maximum of € 600:
The response period, also known as administrative silence, is up to three months from the date of the request. The total budget is 2 million euros , for which it is estimated that it will be possible subsidize about 1,000 VMPs a year.
